The server being your own one on a linux box avoids it sending via eye-fi themselves to get to a web site.

I suspect they do this as it is easier to manage the upload to standard web sites like that.

But of out and about then the card sends direct to eye-fi server not via a local server. I need to find a way to configure the card to think the eye-fi server is in fact my machine accessed over the internet. DNS hacking is one way, obviously, and with our own 3G cards (when we have L2TP) I can do that on the move. But I am hoping to find a setting in the card.RevKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12369263214193333422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3993498847203183398.post-49524204654759781762010-07-30T08:56:15.023+01:002010-07-30T08:56:15.023+01:00Scrap the last comment - just found: http://biobug...Scrap the last comment - just found: http://biobug.org/index.php/2009/03/14/hacking-the-eye-fi-to-keep-your-data-home/Nick Barneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01346700988114542009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3993498847203183398.post-45657127710428547482010-07-30T08:54:22.119+01:002010-07-30T08:54:22.119+01:00This comment has been removed by the author.Nick Barneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01346700988114542009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3993498847203183398.post-90035853338039320032010-07-29T16:19:08.178+01:002010-07-29T16:19:08.178+01:00Yes, but 1Ds is SD, 20D is CFYes, but 1Ds is SD, 20D is CFIanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14249692867869614591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3993498847203183398.post-14293574814154087752010-07-29T14:39:14.271+01:002010-07-29T14:39:14.271+01:00Err, latest Pro X2 card working with EOS 1Ds MkIII...Err, latest Pro X2 card working with EOS 1Ds MkIII now.
