Ordered something online and this is on they list this...
It has a delete icon, but do it, and it re-appears.Seems a third party service.
Seems mandatory.
So ordered the goods, and then emailed (seller, and supplier of 3rd party service) and said under various UK distance selling directives I wish to cancel the "worry-free purchase" service as I am more than happy with my purchase to be covered by UK statutory provisions, which seem to cover all they cover on that service.
We'll see if I get a refund or I have to claw back on card.
Extra irony, their "worry-free" purchase service is causing me "worry" I would not have on any normal purchase.
OK this has worried me...
Viking office supplies used to do something like this. Adding some sort of customer protection deal to every order. One of the features was that it allowed the buyer to return the product if it didn't work properly or if I changed my mind. Very useful when I'm buying 5 reams of paper.
ReplyDeleteI've seen this sort of thing on various (consumer goods) companies recently, in particular places trying to add on 'protection' (effectively insurance) for the delivery, when actually the retailer is responsible for the delivery until it reaches you anyway so there is no reason the consumer should pay any more...
