We have many plates.
They work as plates.
They are fine in the microwave.
But not this fucking plate.
I have blisters on my fingers from picking it up. Food was not cooked - but plate was. Still hurts like hell.
What the fuck?!?

ReplyDeleteYeah that's the answer -water absorbtion. I use the microwave to make coffee (yeah I know) and cheap mugs work at the start, but eventually start absorbing water and become unsafe to use. Only dense porcelain mugs last. Cheap clay is very porous internally, and if there are any scratches that go through the glaze, that's it.
ReplyDeleteSome glases have metal in them. I have a mug with metallic glase on the handle. I only used it once in the microwave. Lesson learnt.
